ABOUT CANARY ISLAND ROVER
Local knowledge. Documented results. One accountable operator.
Canary Island Rover is a founder-led vehicle consultancy based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. CIR represents international buyers, works directly with island owners and service providers, and coordinates each approved project from local search through international delivery.
WHY CIR EXISTS
A local answer to a remote-buying problem.
I’m Adam Farber, the owner and operator of Canary Island Rover. Remote buyers can find advertisements, but an advertisement cannot reliably show the seller, underside, documentation gaps, previous repairs, or the work required to turn an appealing listing into a dependable delivered vehicle.
I moved to Tenerife in 2012 and built my family and professional life in the local community. That continuity matters. Many suitable vehicles surface through owner relationships and word of mouth rather than public listings, and those relationships depend on treating sellers, workshops, and their reputations properly.
CIR was established in 2015 to make international purchases evidence-based. Serious candidates are inspected and test-driven in person, findings are documented, and clients approve the vehicle and each major expense before proceeding.
BUILT IN TENERIFE
A local operating history, not a remote brokerage.
CIR’s sourcing network and delivery record developed through years of continuous work on the islands.
Tenerife becomes home
Adam moves to Tenerife and builds a life, family, and working network in the local community.
Canary Island Rover begins
CIR starts sourcing, documenting, representing, and exporting classic vehicles from the islands.
Public auction record
More than twenty island vehicles are presented through documented Bring a Trailer listings and results.
International deliveries
More than fifty vehicles delivered across ten countries and twenty-nine destinations.
THE DELIVERY RECORD
Evidence that can be checked.
The strongest case for CIR is not a biography. It is the public and project-level record of actual vehicles, disclosures, auction discussions, preparation work, destinations, and completed deliveries.
Delivered vehicle archive
Review representative projects with the vehicle, island origin, condition, documentation, work completed, sale context, and delivery destination.
Bring a Trailer auction record
Public listings preserve photographs, disclosures, seller interaction, enthusiast comments, auction outcomes, and the context surrounding represented island vehicles.
HOW THE COMPANY WORKS
Small by design and direct by contract.
CIR limits the number of active client engagements because personal screening, travel, inspection, and project coordination do not scale responsibly.
Founder-led
The person answering the inquiry is the person screening candidates, inspecting vehicles, and coordinating the project.
Local screening
CIR works across all seven Canary Islands and travels for candidates that justify direct examination.
Evidence first
Inspection findings, documentation, photographs, video, concerns, and recommendations are presented before the buyer commits.
Transparent payments
Clients pay sellers and third-party providers directly. CIR’s scope and professional fees are stated in writing.
BACKGROUND
The person behind the process.
Adam grew up in the Detroit area in a family with generations of Ford workers and an early familiarity with maintaining vehicles. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 2005 as a Chick Evans Scholar and competed as an All-American swimmer.
Professional experience across corporate work, hospitality, travel media, and hands-on project coordination reinforced the standards CIR applies today: preparation, clear communication, documented decisions, and accountability for the client experience.
