VEHICLE History

This 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 is offered from the private collection of Canary Island Rover. It was purchased from the previous long term owner in February 2023 and underwent a full mechanical restoration. The body and paint work were restored by the previous owner. The left hand drive Defender 90 has a 300Tdi motor mated to a 5 speed manual R380 transmission showing 327,355 kms from new. The original interior wears grey Moorland cloth fabric. Offered with the British Motor Heritage Certificate, two sets of keys, current ITV, and Spanish registration. Available for exportation worldwide.

The Land Rover Defender 90 300Tdi was cosmetically restored by the previous owner and does not show any rust. The alpine white paint is in good condition, and the front door hinges and hood hinges have been replaced with heavy duty aluminun ones. The plastic air vents have been replaced. The roof has been painted in a satin black and sports two Rhino Rack bars attached to the rain gutters. The directional lights, and all rear lights have been replaced with new LEDs. The front and rear bumper were repainted in Raptor liner. An aftermarket Mantec spare wheel mount was added to displace the weight from the rear door.

The 16 inch wheels are aluminum five spokes wearing 235/70 Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires with less than 50% of wear – the spare remains unused.

The grey Moorland cloth interior is in its original form and in good condition, the seat inner cushions have been replaced. Seating for six passenger with the rear inward folding seats. The steering wheel was reupholstered in synthetic leather, as well as, the center console top. The roof was also reupholstered. A Grundig stereo cassete player is connected to two speakers mounted behind the front seats.

The front cabin is sprayed with Raptor liner, and the footwells show no signs of oxidation. The rear cabin was upholstered in grey carpeting with a rubber mat.

All electronics work properly. The front windows roll down manually. The original tool set and hi-lift jack are included. A second battery was added by the previous owner to support a drive-along and backup camera. Both batteries have electrical cutoffs located inside the cabin. The starter battery was replaced in April 2023 with a Bosch 74Ah.

The “16L” 300Tdi is capable of producing 111 horsepower and is mated to a 5 speed manual R380 transmission with 2 speed transfer case. It has fulltime 4wd with a center locking differential. The vehicle has 327,355 kms from new.

During the complete mechanical refurbishment in 2023 the fuel tank was replaced with a new one along with a new filler cap and new filler hose. All suspension bushings were replaced along with the central suspension ball joint. The braking system was overhauled with the new rear discs, pads, and lines. In addition, the brake depressor, servo, brake pump, and front brake lines were replaced for new. The front axle swivels were overhauled. The timing belt, exterior belts, thermostat, and distributor components were replaced. A new radiator was fitted along with new hoses for the radiator and heater. The heater was replaced with an aftermarket unit. The valve cover seal and gasses hose were replaced. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced. The motor oil and all fluids were replaced along with new filters. Plus, three new wiper blades.

The undercarriage was treated for oxidation, first by sanding, next treated with rust converter, then primed with zinc primer, sprayed with two part Wurth Antigravilla, and finally treated internally with MaFra Lubrigraph.
