VEHICLE History

This 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 is offered from the private collection of Canary Island Rover.  It remained in the family of the original owner until it was purchased in February 2021.  In March 2021 it underwent a complete mechanical restoration, and minor cosmetic refresh.  It was located in the mountainous agriculture region of Arico Tenerife during the longtime ownership and used for short trips to and from the finca.  In 2014 the odometer ceased working after completing 100,000 kms and was subsequently replaced with a new odometer now reading 32,900 kms – the change and kms are noted in the ITV safety inspections that occur every 6 months.  The left hand drive Defender 90 has a 300Tdi motor mated to a 5 speed manual R380 transmission.  The white paint is original from the factory and the original interior wears grey Moorland cloth fabric.  Offered as a NO RESERVE auction on www.BringaTrailer.com with two sets of keys, manufacturer’s literature, owner’s manual, and current ITV and Spanish registration.

The Land Rover Defender 90 300Tdi wears its original factory white paint.  During the refurbishment in 2021 paint work included refinishing the front door hinges, front areas around the windshield, and rear flashing, in addition to, repainting the wheel arches, plastic air vents, front grille, and light covers in matte black.  The front bumper was refurbished and repainted in matte black, as well as, the rear cross member.  An aftermarket spare wheel mount was added to displace the weight from the rear door.  Rear mud flaps were added and the rear bumperettes were replaced with new parts.  All light signals and covers were replaced with new parts.  The front windshield was replaced along with a new seal.

During the refurbishment the front driver door and door lock were repaired.  Front door outer window seals were replaced.  The rear door was also repaired and the rear door seals replaced.  The rear step was also repaired and rubber cover replaced.

 

The original 16 inch Rostyle wheels were repainted in white and wear new LT235/85 BF Goodrich KO2 tires – four at the corners and a fifth spare.

motor and transmission

The “16L” 300Tdi is capable of producing 111 horsepower and is mated to a 5 speed manual R380 transmission with 2 speed transfer case.  It has fulltime 4wd with a center locking differential.  The vehicle has 132,900 kms from new.
During the complete mechanical refurbishment in 2021 the timing belt and distributor components were replaced, a new radiator was fitted along with new hoses for the radiator and heater.  The motor oil and all fluids were replaced along with new filters.  The steering box was overhauled and refurbished.  The pit arm ball joint and steering ball joint were replaced, along with the center ball joint replaced new.  All four shocks were replaced.  The brake servo and depressor were replaced new and new pads for the rear brakes.  The R380 gear box was completely overhauled with new seals and gears.  The clutch and its components were replaced, as well.
Current ITV vehicle emission and road safety inspection.  Starts on first turn.
All service records are present in the picture gallery along with an English translation.  Nearly 70 hours of labor were invested in the mechanical restoration.

The grey Moorland cloth interior is in its original form and in good condition, the seats have been covered since new with heavy duty leather covers.  Seating for six passenger with the rear inward folding seats.  The dashboard was reupholstered in synthetic leather, as well as, the center console.  The roof and sun visors were reupholstered.  The rear door was reupholstered, as well as, the rear upper seatbacks.
The rear cabin was repainted in white and a new rubber floor mat was fitted.  The front floor boards were treated for surface oxidation and repainted.  The front driver door and rear door were repaired.
All electronics work properly.  The front windows roll down manually.
The original tool set and hi-lift jack are included.
