VEHICLE HISTORY

Clean, classic and looking for adventure!  One of the most sought after 4x4s on the market today, this vintage single cabin HJ45 pickup was manufactured in Japan by Toyota Motors and has been cosmetically restored by its second owner in early 2017.  Originally sold on Tenerife at Blandy Toyota in 1975.

Factory motor and tansmission.  Interior is original with reupholstered seats.  Garaged since 2015.

EXTERIOR

The truck bed and cabin were removed from the chassis for a bare metal rust removal and treatment.  The body was restored and painted White in early 2017.  The chassis was treated for rust and painted at the same time.  There is surface rust on the bottom of the truck bed, sump and leaf springs.  The cabin and engine bay are free from any signs of oxidation.

INTERIOR

The interior is cleanly restored to original with the factory metal doors, dash, knobs, badges and seats – the passenger seat base is torn and is depicted in the photos.  An original Toyota lap belt has been fitted to the driver side, as well as, a lap belt for the passenger.  The original overhead window wipers work, as well as, all lights and switches.  The marker on the fuel gauge is not functioning.

MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION

The HJ45 has its original 3.6L inline 6 diesel H motor, with 12 overhead valves.  The original H41 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through all gears.  The 2 speed transfer case is in working order.  The master brake cylinder has been recently replaced by the current owner.  The vehicle has recently been serviced and all fluids and filters replaced.  54,678 kms are shown on the dash after rolling over one time totaling 154,678 kms (less than 97,000 miles).  There is no power steering.  The truck starts on the first turn, runs and drives.

TEST DRIVE

This HJ45 has no heater, air conditioning or radio.  All four wheels have drum brakes and are fitted with Hankook tires.  This vehicle is geared toward skilled drivers, more so, than one accustomed to modern, automatic vehicles.  Highway speeds in this vehicle are relative to standard conditions when manufactured.  It will take you back in time and is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

THE POSITIVES
